BSF Recruitment 2025 Overview
BSF invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens (male and female) for the non-gazetted, non-ministerial combatised posts of Head Constable (Radio Operator) and Head Constable (Radio Mechanic) in its Communication Set-up for the vacancy year 2025. The posts are temporary but likely to be made permanent, and appointments can be made anywhere in India or abroad.
Pay Scale & Allowances
- Pay Level 4 (₹25,500–81,100 as per 7th CPC)
- Dearness allowance, ration money allowance, dress allowance, LTC, HRA, free uniform, free accommodation or HRA, transport allowance, and more as per rules.

Educational Qualification
- HC (Radio Operator): 12th/Intermediate (PCM with 60% aggregate) OR Matriculation + 2 years ITI (Radio/TV/Electronics/Computer Operator & related trades).
- HC (Radio Mechanic): 12th/Intermediate (PCM with 60% aggregate) OR Matriculation + 2 years ITI (Radio/TV/Electronics/Electrical/Computer Hardware & related trades).
Age Limit (as on closing date)
- UR/EWS: 18 to 25 years
- OBC: 18 to 28 years
- SC/ST: 18 to 30 years
Relaxation as per rules for special categories.
Physical Standards (Height/Chest/Weight) and detailed requirements apply as per BSF rules (see notification for different relaxations).
BSF Recruitment 2025 Selection Process
- 1st Phase: Physical Standard Test (PST)/Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- 2nd Phase: Computer Based Test (CBT)
- 3rd Phase: Document Verification, Dictation Test & Paragraph Reading (for HC-RO only), Detailed Medical Examination.
Examination Fee:
₹100 for UR/OBC/EWS Male (per post). SC/ST/Female/Ex-Servicemen/BSF Departmental/Compassionate Appointment candidates are exempted. Service charge of ₹59 for all candidates.
